What's the brightest Cree light that uses an 18650 battery source? I have an MTE that's been giving me issues, so I'd like to try something else just to see. I want it to be as bright or brighter than the MTE P7 5 mode if possible.
Thanks.
I'd try one of the MTE MC-E lights. In particular, this (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16501) one.

Thanks uke. Just purchased one. I have a 5 mode P7 MTE but the clicky switch went kaput.
I've just started a very similar topic over at CPF. Here's the link: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=214845
FWIW, I think I'm going to go with the Solarforce and an R2 drop-in from LightHound. It'll be a little more expensive than from Kai, but I've read a report that the Solarforce lights there might be dodgy, so it's worth the extra few bucks to me.

I have that light w/o the silly assault crown. Expect 40 minutes of runtime on high, unregulated, which means the light will dim as the battery runs down. It is rather bright though.

I think for great runtime with output the Fenix TK11 is a good choice.. It is more of a thrower than floody like the P7 lights... It has about 1/2 the output compared to the P7's. You will get 2.5 hours+ runtime on high mode..
