Ok, so here is my question that I wasn't about to ask in the road forum...

I recently picked up a used Salsa Las Cruces that had the steerer tube cut by the previous owner. I'd like to raise the bars a bit, but I'm at the limit with the current steerer tube. Short of buying new forks, which I don't want to do becuase the like the orange Salsa forks, what are my options?
Thanks,
Chris

BTW- Here is the current setup:

If you want to raise it a little bit, buy a new stem with some more rise.

If you want to raise it a lot, buy one of these. (http://aebike.com/page.cfm?action=details&PageID=30&SKU=SM1977)

They don't look fantastic and I don't have any experience with them though.

Yeah, I would say go for a new stem with more rise. I think that'll bring your handlebars closer, though.

Judging by the amount of seat post showing on your bike your bikes length may be more of an issue than the height of the bar. What size is your bike?, how long is the stem?, how tall are you? A shorter stem with more rise may be needed.

The bike is a 52cm with a 54 horizontal tt...the stem is a 6deg rise 90mm. I'm around 5'8" with a 32-33" pubic bone height. I'm thinkning something around a 17deg rise, I'm going to take it by my lbs to see what they can do as the stack height is very important (ex. a salsa stem has too much stach due to the steerer tube being cut).
Thanks all,
Chris
