I am doing more commuting these days and have my eye on the next PBP. I want to get a good quality Dynamo front hub that can run two front lights (or maybe just one). Where can I find a used one for my raod bike (700c)? The new ones I have found tend to be very pricey.
Cheers

Good luck finding a used one; I'm not sure who would want to give theirs up unless they're upgrading their Shimano to a Schmidt or something.

I bought a used one with the Shimano, not exactly sure why the person gave up on it. Maybe they just needed the money. It didn't save me a whole lot of money, seems like you can get a wheel for under $200 from Harris.
I'm thinking about getting the new Shimano hub and building up a wheel for my racing bike. It's really nice to have the lights available and not have to worry about recharging. On the other hand, for the amount of money I am spending, you can buy some really nice lights and not have to live with the wires. My front light is the Shimano that was made for use with the hub, and I don't have a rear light to power with the hub yet. I'm thinking about DIY LED lights.

i bought a dynamo hub from ebay and laced my wheel up all for less than $80. maybe you can try the pioneer spanninga dynamo (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=320073195825) which fit to the rear wheel dont need to be laced.

Try subscribing to the google group called "randon" occasionally someone posts a wheel set for sale. You could also post an inquiry yourself. Maybe there is a lurker that was thinking of selling.

Mine came from the LBS, out the back they had a new shimano wheel, I think it came off a giant CRX city which has dynamo lights as standard. Might pay to ask at bike shops who stock dynamo equipped bikes.
