Foo - photo printers?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone had any experiences with either the Epson R300M or Canon i900D printers? I think I've narrowed my choice down to these two printers, but looking for comparisons or even other options.
Quality of the print is the most important factor to me. Speed is of lesser concern. Both will do 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10 but I guess the Epson will do panoramics up to 44", too.
Haven't heard anything about the longevity of inks on the Canons, but Epson claims 25 years and water resistancy. Guy at the shop says if you use the Polaroid papers, you can get 100 years??
Thanks in advance.

I do not have experience with either of those printers, but you can find a review of both at steve-digicams.com (http://steves-digicams.com/printers.html#reviews)

Thanks, Patch. Already read those. Have any other sites that have compared them both?
Try www.cnet.com. They do some good reviews there.

Somehow I doubt they've tested that. I'm sure how you store the print has a HUGE effect on longevity, too. The 44" panoramic feature sounds kind of nice. You must be pretty seriously into digital photography. What kinds of subjects do you focus on (no pun intended)?

I'm just an amateur, but I manage to get some pretty good shots now and then. I'm pretty proud of some of my scenics and even have some blown up, mounted and hanging on my walls. Haven't done much portraiture or anything, but maybe some day. I've done some special effect stuff, too, but mostly just trial and error.
I'd like to be able to print some of the stuff I've done to share or display. My avatar is a shot I took (I changed it right after posting this) one night up in WA. I like it, though the scan isn't hi res.

I did find this website (http://www.wilhelm-research.com/) that has a lot of information on the longevity on prints.

Thanks, Patch! That looks like some good info.
