I am new to bikeforums.net and have been enjoying reading through the various discussions. I enjoy riding the hills here in NH and I'm presently about to upgrade from my trusty Trek 520 touring bike to a more racing oriented design. It looks like the Cannondale R1000 is the front runner for me presently. I'm trying to understand if the aluminum frame is tough enough for my 225 pound body and my riding habits.

Looking forward to this forum!

Tom

Hi,
and welcome. The Cannondale is tough enough.
I'd try a few different bikes, and see what you like.
Run over to Harris Cyclery and try this guy...
