Hi guys, I need your expert opinions. I just bought this killer frame (Jamis Dakar xlt 3.0 2004) for around $$ 760 and I have assembled it already. since my fork marzocchi mx comp has only 100mm travel I set my rear shock fox talas into the 95mm travel since it is adjustable. The bike looks good and it's not too heavy but I still have to ride it around for the break in. But i have this persistent worry about the size.
I am 5'11 weighing 178lbs. The frame I bought is medium (17) with a top tube of 22.5 inches. The next size is large (19) and the next is extra large (21). When I ride the bike the feeling seems to be just right. I don't feel too stretched or too cramped in the cockpit but when I see the geometry of other bikes, they have the medium size with 23+ top tube. So what do you think? Is this frame size okay for me or should I try the large (19) size.
