I am looking at the Niterider Minewt Mini USB and was wondering about the rubber cap that covers the charging jack. I am curious as to how well that thing is at keeping water out of the battery since it looks kind of flimsy, has anybody had any problems with it? I am asking because I live in seattle so he have quite a bit of rain.

The first one I had the flap wouldn't stay put. The switch died on it about 2 weeks after I bought it and I had to return it. I doubt that the 2 issues were related.

The new light's flap stays put a bit better and I haven't noticed any water in it. I also have it mounted on the underside/front of my stem so it doesn't get horribly wet. I'm in portland and commute 4-5 days a week by bike.

The flap on mine stays put almost too well... I have to work to get it out for charging (not complaining!) so I've not had any issues with moisture getting in. I've got mine mounted on the underside of the stem as well, so the opening faces the stem. You'd have to get in a torrential downpour or splash a big puddle to flip water up into the area I think. A bit of electrical tape across the bottom would insure a better seal if you're concerned though. Or better yet, take a bit of innertube and make a brick koozy for the charging side.
