Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. After several months of debate and dithering, coupled with a few more months of "do I really need this anyway" I signed on the line for a Bike Friday Pocket Rocket today, with a January/February delivery time.

I think I'm excited.

So hello, and I'm sure I'll be coming your way for advice once the baby finally arrives. :)

Welcome! Be sure to post pics of your ride when it comes.

But of course. It's stealth black. I might paint over the decals and see if that makes it invisible.

You got the black Friday deal! Sweet!

Congrats! I too am a one week owner of a BF Pocket Rocket. It's a great ride!

Yup. I was looking at one of their used bikes (preloved), but with that discount, this sounded like a better deal.

I have nothing against a black bike.

Welcome to the BF family. That's BikeForums and BikeFriday. I'm sure you will love your new wheels.

I recently upgraded my ride from a Downtube, which I loved, to a pre-loved New World Tourist. It's a great bike. I have added faster tires (Stelvio 1 1/8" 120psi), and fenders are on the way.

Be sure to check out the Yak forum. It is specific to Bike Fridays. You can get real world responses to your questions from people who have been there and done that.

If you realy want the stealth look. Don't paint over the BikeFriday decals. Just ask them not to put them on the bike. You can always put them on your self latter if you want.

Tell me more about the Yak forum Sahadev.

As for the decals, it is tempting. Decals always get scratched up and then they look silly. If it's all black, all I can scratch is the paint.

Oh, wait a second. Scratched up paint is infinitely worse than scratched up decals.

Definitely the primary list for Bike Friday bikes.

Invisiblehand has given you the link to the Yak page. You can read posts there or you can subscribe and have them delivered to your inbox.

I have already answered my question about fenders for my NWT by searching the archives. Plus I have a set of new PB fenders on their way to me from a fellow Yakker. Check it out.

Looks like The Forum for Bike Friday information, but is there an easy way of reading it? I went into their archives, and it seems that you have to click on every single entry separately, and there's no search engine -- and no way to report spam or something like that. And I can't get the entries to wrap properly (which could be a factor of my computer I guess).

But dear, oh dear. Another bit of internettery to get addicted to.

The following instruction for searching was posted on Yak. It's the only way that I know to search it. My text doesn't wrap consistently either. I think it is the forum itself that causes this to happen.

Yak seems like it is based on older software. It could stand to be updated to add even basic features. The info, once you find it, is still useful though.

From Yak---

If you're looking for (e.g.) the word "Stelvio" in the
Yak archives, go to El Goog and search for a combination of
"site:bikefriday.com/pipermail/yak" and "Stelvio", with a
space between them:

site:bikefriday.com/pipermail/yak Stelvio

Heck, you can start from here and type whatever term(s) you
want in the search box:

http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Abikefriday.com%2Fpipermail%2Fyak

Several search engines use the "site:" syntax. If you prefer
Yahoo! you could start with this:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=site%3Abikefriday.com%2Fpipermail%2Fyak
(http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=site%3Abikefriday.com%2Fpipermail%2Fyak)[/font]

Why thank you.

Iceni warrior queen, stealth black folding bike... Something suitably sensible about it in some strange way.
