General Cycling Discussion - Santa Fe Century Participants

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I know that I, my wife, Booyah, and HOG-I and his wife are all participating in the Santa Fe Century.
There should be some way we can all get together.
I believe HOG-I is staying at the La Quinta, I am staying at the Comfort Inn on Cerrillos. (That way I can leave directly from the motel on the route without having to check in at Capshaw early in the AM.) We are both staying Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Anyone else? How could we all say "Howdy!" (That is USA westernese for "Hello") :D
Are you all doing the pasta lunch after the ride from 12:30 - 5:00?

Sounds cool.
My wife and a friend of hers will be doing the 50 mile route, and I'm bringing at least 2 other guys with me for the 100.
Looks like we're staying on Cerrillos - not sure the name of the hotel. Staying Saturday and Sunday nights.

Well, I (and my wife) have simply not had enough time in our busy schedule to get any long rides in to practice for the SFC.
So, we will probably end up riding about 35-50 miles. We have a relative who, hopefully, can drive us out past Galisteo so that we can ride back in. If not, we will ride out past Madrid and then ride back in.
I was hoping my schedule would allow me some long rides, but it just hasn't turned out that way. Longest so far is about 25 miles, and I just don't feel prepared for 100 miles. Also, the wife really wants to ride with me, and she is not up to that kind of a ride, either.
However, this summer, I will have lots of oppportunities to do my own centuries around the Denver area - all by my self, and that is what I plan to do. Last summer I did a metric century in the area.
It still should be a lot of fun. We will be eating the "pasta" dinner at Capshaw after the ride. Maybe we will see you there.

I'm in for the 100 ...just registered. Go figure that I registered last minute before the price went up $4.00. I'm staying at the Comfort Inn, Cerrillos Rd with a few friends/coworkers ...doing the Pancake and Pasta meals too.

Hope to see some of you. We are staying at the Comfort Inn.
Look for a couple of folks in the 60's - shouldn't be too hard to find us. Green Caravan Sport with the bikes inside - no roof rack.
Yellow Lemond BA, green Trek 7300.
It is 6:30 am and we are off to Santa Fe. Be there in about 5 hours!!

As for me, I hope to be moving back to NM before the year is over... So it will be next year before I get to do santa Fe Century, Tour of the Rio Grande, Red River Enchanted Circle, Durango Co Iron Horse Challenge and so on, BUT if you guys keep posting and I happen to be living in NM again I would be glad to meet up with Y'all :D
