"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - I fell off my rollers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Did you do a burnout on the floor and go flying into the wall like that scene in Ferris Buhler's Day Off where the Ferrari falls off the jacks and goes racing out the window?

Yes. On recently refinished maple flooring. My wife wasn't amused in the least.

Good job RX
I'm feeling you on the cold too. I'm heading out in 72 degree weather for a 20m test. I might have to go out with 2/3 of a bottle today, rather than a full...

judging by that body weight thread cookies should be a banned word.

I've only gone off my rollers once. Kinda scared me. Really, really scared the dog.
I was thinking about that last night while contemplating if I could stand up while on the rollers...

I have friends who can reliably take off a shirt on rollers (no hands).

I'd be more impressed if he could do it while keeping his hands ON the handlebars...:p

If you were typing on your laptop while riding rollers, okay.
If not, well, then you're just human. heh.
I'm going to practice taking a jersey off (not full zip, the full zip is cheating). Also I want to figure out how to bunny hop up onto the rollers to start riding, and off to stop. Oh and a track stand too, on a freewheel bike.
I don't think I'll be very successful but it'll be fun trying.

I live in a 500 sq ft apt with enough wooden objects to **** me up if I fall. There is a reason I dont ride ride rollers.

Actually, I should ask, how is your bike?

Oh, I didn't really fall off the rollers. Ex just said he wanted me to start a thread that said that. It was sort of a companion thread to the earlier one. But now we have roadie foo so this thread is kind of superfluous.

I can ride no handed but my bike doesn't track perfectly straight on the rollers so I have to work on keeping the bike on the rollers.

I didn't see any track stand, or riding off the rollers, and definitely no fast pedaling.
Not impressed. Next.

Back in the day I had my 'hovel in the hood' as my wife called it. Old, small as yours, and still plenty of room for rollers in the doorway.

Couple with 6 feet of crash window to the sides.. Could get ugly.

Yeah the layout of my apt has a lot of free space in the middle but not enough to avoid bodily harm if I crash.

So far I've been lucky and always caught myself when I've fallen.
