In the next phase of N+ disease I'm picking up frames two at a time. Frames increase the symptoms duration because of the extended period building up the bike :)
It's a teaser because I don't have pics of both frames yet. As hints -

One is white and chrome, 531 tubing - I'll buy a brown/copper Persons leather saddle for it
One is red and white 853 tubing with matching Reynolds Ouzo Pro CF fork - that needs bullhorn/aerobars

The newer frame is destined for resale since it's a 52.

Frames are always better than complete bikes because you get to pick each bit and assemble it all correctly.

Okay, I guess maybe new bikes are a better deal when you add it all up, but how often is a new bike equipped exactly the way you want it? Almost never. Well . . . unless you spec'd the new bike and the shop built it up into a complete bike.

For N+1 or N+2, however, frames are lots better!

Boreas was a Frame and fork deal- so was the TCR-C.

Lot cheaper to buy complete bikes though and just upgrade when parts wear out.

I know complete bikes are more equipment for the dollar but I don't think that this hobby would appeal to me as much if I didn't build my bikes from the bare frame.

It would be even cheaper not to buy a bike at all. Of course, that wouldn't be any fun.

Four of my bikes are built up from frame or frame/forks. Five were full bikes that have undergone extensive time under the wrench (25% - 50% change). I still owe the pics - I forgot to take some this morning before the clouds rolled in.
