Hey everyone. i was wondering if you had any idea of good brakes for cheap.

i found a campy mirage set for 60. just wondering if that was good or if there is anything better for that price range

im 275 lbs and i have 1 old brake on my bike. i thought i should get new brakes but didnt want anything to expensive seeing how this is kind of a beater bike. i just need something that works well and is reliable for 275lb man. :p

thanks!

Here's some from Nashbar that are a little cheaper. I've got a set on my SS bike:

http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=600069&subcategory=60001014&brand=&sku=11499&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Road%20Brakes

They also sell the Campy Mirage brakes for $50/set.

There's a Nashbar set that's even cheaper ($30), but they're really cheaply made, too. I wouldn't buy them unless your bike is going to be used as just a slow speed cruiser.

thanks for the info. do you know if the mirage will work well and why the 2007 model is cheaper than the 2006?
