There's a good comparison of 17 different bike lighting setups on the UK's YACF cycling forum if you click here. (http://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11751.0) Some of these lights I've never heard of like the insanely bright Lupine Betty 6 - I think you can fry chicken under that one.
Thanks for this link go to Alan's EcoVelo blog - one of my favorite cycling websites.

To bad they didn't have a P7 in their test. Or did I miss it? I really would have liked to have seen how it compares to the "Betty".

They have the Airbike SL2 in the test which is a P7 light. From the looks of it, its usable light is < the Dinotte 200L

For $1000 that Lupine Betty 6 better be bright!

You looking at the same photos as me;) Its very floody but a great beam for a bar application, output looks very close to Dinotte 600L with less of a hot spot to me.

I think it works well if you use more than one light (one spot, one flood), but as a single light source, it does not light far enough down the trail/street. In terms of light output, the measured light in the graph puts it at about par with the 200L and ~1/3 as bright as the 600L.
I think the hot spot on the 600L (which has been universally praised as a great bar light with many reporting no-so-great throw) is still more usefull than the Airbike since I don't find myself ever needing quite so wide of a spread unless I am crawling up a hilll and start thinking about mountian lions. Most of the time I ride on the street as speeds of 20-28mph, and for me, throw is way more important than spread.

As I have a bike with a front hub generator I am interested in the Lumotec IQ Cyo N Plus for it. Looks to be one of the brightest generator lights and is due to be available from Peter White Cycles if not already here, per his web site. Claimed output is getting up towards the 80 Lumens area apparently with no batteries to buy or die. Not bad from a 3w generator.
Boy that, is just... geeky.

Thanks kuan;
The bike in question also has fenders, a rear rack and a Rohloff gear hub. Probably totally geeksville but it works for me. I am old enough so do not GAS about others opinions as opinions are like a--holes, everyone has one.
