Mountain Biking - Can i...?

i have a set of mavic XM 321 rims. currently i have kenda nev 2.35" tires sitting on these rims. can i downsize to a 2.1" tire without having any compatibility issues? or am i stuck with ~2.35" tires with these rims?

Absolutely. Stick some 2.1s on there and schralp some gnar!

recommended tire width on the xm 317 is 1.5-2.3 so yes
recommended tire width on the en 321 is 2.1-2.5 so yes
are you sure you have the xm321?

Sure. I've run anything from 1.5" slicks to 2.7" DH tires on all sorts of Mavic XC rims without ever an issue.
are you sure you have the xm321?
