alright, so I like Brooks saddles... I've had a honey B17 for a while on one of my bikes and now I see they have the B17 Champon Special in "Brittish Racing Green" ... none of the pictures I've found online yet seem to show the color very well (they look black... but then my work monitor isn't calibrated very well either)... regardless, I was curious if anyone has seen them "in the flesh." How do they look? The thought of it sounds very cool to me... if it is indeed a nice dark subtle green... any thoughts? on a black frame? Heh?

I have not seen one in person but "British racing green" is the same as saying "fire engine red" so I doubt there will be much difference than the standard.

I think it would look sweet, and individual.

Here is an e-bay listing with pictures. You could e-mail and ask if you don't get more responses here.

Hope this helps,

It looks nice in the flesh - I've got a BRG Team Professional on my commuter bike (though don't have any photos around of it at the moment).

I thought I saw someone around here a few weeks ago with a BRG Brooks on a new Specialized Langster, but I can't find the thread! Looked sweet...

I have the BRG with copper plated rails Team Pro. on my road bike. The green is VERY dark, but I like it, so hey that's all that matters! :D

I am having only one problem with my Brooks saddle. It is spoiling my bottom!!!! Everything else I own now feels like I am riding on a plank!

I have a couple bikes with the honey B17 & last Summer I Saw a NIB one in Maroon with a "buy it now" price of $45.00, snapped it up & have kept my eyes open for another one since. I will try to get a good picture up as it really looks good on a blue or green bike. Don

I've bought from that seller on ebay: PTD55 and he is solid.. He has a lot of nice brooks saddles and you can also get the proofide and spanner for $10.00..

Good Luck.. I just bought a B17 Champion Special in Black with the copper rails and it is beautiful and comfy too..

Sadly, the Bikeman called me to tell me they were out of the BRG Champion Specials and indicated it looks like they might be out of production... However, I just got one off ebay for about 15 or 20 bucks more (oh well, what's a little more cash heh... oy) and its the guy who will throw in the spanner for 3 and a half bucks extra... so alas, I still have one coming - but the news from the shop is that perhaps no more green saddles (at least the Champon Specials)...

If you poke around on e-bay, you might find something like this French "Pryma" saddle.
