Folding Bikes - I've lost my mind and bought yet another folding bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

2007 Dahon Jetstream XP. Went to meet the guy I bought it from and it was absolutely immaculate. VERY well cared for and he told me he thought he put a thousand kilometers on it but the tires still look brand new. Anyway I guess he bought it, rode it a bit and he said it's been put up for months. He bought it in February and it still has warranty left on it from a local store so simple math says it wasn't on the road much.

He's a bike nut like me with too many bikes and I guess his wife wanted him to liquidate. (same as mine).

I also have a Dahon Mu P8 and I love that bike. It's so much fun and this bike blows it away.

Took it for a ride and it shifts like a dream. The SRAM Dual Drive is remarkable. Braking is better and the latches are way better engineered than the Mu P8 I have. (My Mu P8 is in the shop because the frame latch is hosed).

My wife gave me a goofy look when I came home with another bike but I promised to buy her something of equal value and the goofy look disappeared.

If you had to placate your wife then whatever savings you got from buying has just disappeared. :D

Regardless that is one fine looking folder you have managed to snag.

So I suppose that we all agree in this point. The problem of our bicycles is caused by our wives (), right?

Naw, teh bf does not care if i buy a million bikes as long as I don't break the bank.

Yes, TrekJapan, you are nuts. But so are all the rest of us in this forum. The jetstream is pretty sweet though--I tried one with a Rohloff on the SoCal folder ride and it is awesome.

Folding bikes are like chocolates...

...you can't have just one.

...they often have nuts on top. (makeinu)

The perfect number of bikes to have is one more than you already own!
