Over the last 2 years I have done 5 unsupported solo centuries. Sometimes I just get the itch.
Tomorrow I am thinking it is time. Time to burn off another lingering vacation day. Use'm or Lose'm
I am getting weird on this one. A 50 Mile out and 50 mile back that features Sierra Rd.
Begin in South Walnut Creek and go all the way down to Sunol and then over Felter Rd. Descend Sierra.
Sierra and N. Capitol is 50 mi. so that is my turn around.
The climb of Sierra on the way home comes past the 50 miles mark.
Bikely Route (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Sierra-Rd-Out-n-Back-Century)
7000 ft of climbing.
For organized Centuries like Foxy's, Solvang etc. I can turn in a 6 or 6 1/2 hour time.
Unsupported, and pulling the whole time is a different animal. I usually clock in around 7 1/2 hours.
It is not about the time on these solo missions. It is about peace, thinking, quiet, and the need to go the distance.

If anyone wants to join me, all are welcome.
I will depart the Iron Horse Trail parking lot in South Walnut Creek at
7:00AM NEW EARLIER TIME tomorrow, Friday the 5th.
(Located right where Rudgear and Danville Blvd meet.)
