Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Have been noticing some heavy equipment on the bay side of palm avenue on my morning commute. Asked a signalman working there and he said they were extending the bikepath!!:)
Anybody heard anything about it? I googled it, and found some info, but nothing current. Looks like it will cut out a good section of palm avenue-which is fine by me!!:D
It was in the paper a few weeks ago they are finally completing it, when it's done you won't have to ride on Palm Ave anymore

I just wish they'd fix the bike lane on Kerney Villa along Miramar.... I feel like a need a full suspension MTB when I ride along there!

^I don't think the road conditions are as important as the fact that Kearney Villa Road is the only route from north city inland to points south, and it's a rather dangerous road. It's like riding on a freeway, but you actually have to cross the ramps and ride in the lane in certain sections.

I have ridden this section many times with the Cyclo-Vets, they use part of this road as a sprint area, I am always nervous someone in the group will go down at speed do to the poor condition of the road

Even better at night, the posted speed is 65mph btw... The ninja hiker almost got me or vice versa...

And getting trashed by all the trash along there. I once spied the bottom of a 40 oz'er, I stopped to chuck it off into the fenceline. Then there was the phone and wooden spike...

So we all agree, Kearney Villa Road sucks.

There is a San Diego City Road Maintenance hot line and website (I tried looking for it and couldn't find it) to report potholes and sections of road that need repair. I've used it at least three or four times and each time they came out and repaired within about 90 days. You might want to call. Couldn't hurt. :)

They did fix Torrey Pines though...
Yeah Kearney Villa sucks, but it's so doggone convenient.
