So I was thinking that I would get out of the city for a few days, head to see some friends in Columbus Ohio. Like I need another reason to get out of here? Well there is always an Alleycat race:

So anyone here in or around Columbus Ohio that is thinking about this race?

I can make it. I know some guys in columbus too. how far do they usually run in an alleycat?

I couldn't tell you how long it is going to run trekkie820. I will find out when I get there, they can run almost any distance it seems. It will definently be a blast, that is the important part to me.

We should hook up if you do decide to go, I don't know if anyone else from Chicago will be down there.

Sidenote: Anyone know of any "cheap" hotels in Columbus or jsut anywhere that they would recommend in Columbus?

The site said "housing available". I think I will definately try to make it. Make a weekend out of it, I'll visit my buddies at OSU friday night, race saturday and hangout with the alley cat'ers. Do you have to be of age(21)?

Nah, don't sweat the age factor. Last race I was at there was one kid there with his dad driving him, its no big deal. Well unless you want to drink that is, there is a reason they used a bar as the landmark for the starting point!

Remember that these aren't officially sanctioned or anything so the rules are a lot more flexible than regular races.

As for my hotel arangements, I will be in town for a few days and I am more than happy to pay for a room and be able to sleep in a bed. Plus I just like being able to crash whenever I want.

If im not drinking, I'll most likely drive back to BG that night after the race. Im still debating on going...but it is looking good

I'm prolly going with my roommate and a few of his messer friends. I don't think there's any space left in the van but if there is I'll let you know!

Thats good to hear that there is going to be a contingent of out of towners!
