I feel Dave Stoller should have been cited as well as the Cinzano trucker.....just sayin...........

Only if it were an Italian cop.
I have always wondered about that. To me, Stoller was much more at fault. Unlicensed vehicle traveling at well over it's designed speed, rider at risk for serious bodily harm, and yet he goes Scot free. There is no justice.
Even stranger, what the hell was a Cinzano truck doing the the middle of the US of freaking A? I have never seen a Cinzano truck ever. I think the only Cinzano anything I have ever seen are empty Cinzano bottles with plastic flowers in them, sitting on the red and white checkered plastic like table cloth at a cheap Italian restaurant.

Not to mention, Following too Close, Recless Driving (er, biking), and improper lane changes.

I guess I assumed the truck was a team truck carrying the Italians bikes and such to town.
Let's not even discuss Dave's cycling prowess what with motor pacing at 60 in the small ring......

How many red lights did this kid run? Shoot, his dad even almost took him out at an intersection. It cyclist's like him that give us all a bad name.

He should have been cited for failure to use the big ring.

Also for fraud...impersonating an Italian cyclist.
Dont forget Cinzano table-umbrellas
I am not sure I have ever seen one. I know I have seen green bottles on red/white table clothes, and I for some reason think they were Cinzano. If I was on trial, I could not truthfull say that I could ever recall seeing something Cinzano labeled with my own eyes, other than on TV, movie, etc.

Isn't this a case of reverse favoritism? Wouldn't, under normal circumstances, Dave have been cited and the truck driver would be let off the hook?

What is the situation that led up to this!?!? I missed a story somehow.

Dave was training, if I remember the story right, on the highway as a Team Cinzano truck passed him. Dave flipped it into high gear and the truck driver let him draft at speeds in excess of 60mph.

that's how I recall it.....Next thing you know Dave was flipping over the bars after having a pump shoved in his wheel. Hero to zero....

Wait. Now what's this about a pump being shoved in his spokes? Did they cop do it or what??
I'm so flippin confused.

No it was the BIG race.....Dave was unattached and riding solo. He was able to break away from the second group and he solo's up to the lead pack who was made up entirely of Team Cinzano riders from Italy. Dave was like....Hey, I speak Italion and tried to be buddy buddy with the Italians. They weren't buying any of this and decided to teach the wanna be a lesson. That's when the mean ole Italian took his frame pump and shoved it into Stollers front wheel.
Got It.....?
