I'm over in Crystal City, and trying to find a ride route to CHB. BUT (and its a big but), I've never ridden the route, and it looks like there is a whole bunch of traffic between here and there.

Looks like I'll take the bike trail up to the Mason bride, but after that, what?

Take the Mount Vernon Trail to the 14th Street bridge (there's a bike path on the bridge), around the Tidal Basin to the Mall, go up the Mall to Capitol Hill. The ADC Bike Map of DC is a good one, and you can find it at any bike shop and most bookstores.

Thanks for the tips--ended up going via Independence, which wasn't so bad once I was a few light cycles ahead of traffic. It was certainly pretty cool coming back through the mall at night. I've done it on foot, but on bike is something else!

I prefer Jefferson and Madison (the two streets on either side of The Mall) to Independence--MUCH less traffic. The Mall at night is great. Got lights?
