It's definitely a cute little thing. What size frame? (and what's with this neg rise crap ;))
I must say I've always been an oogler of Salsa.
Nice job.
Positive rise is a big no no in the road bike forum, not here? J/K.
Small 16.5 I think but still has a 23" top tube.
thanks for the compliment
Don't like them. I like the 20mm TA a lot but the valving blows. The absolute adjustment is six clicks and three are lockout. There is no bottoming dampeners and the stroke has no progressiveness. So basically you can bottom the fork pretty easily and it dives. I have a Fox Talas on the other bike and it is hands down a better fork. The Manitou is very stiff and light though. 3.8pounds with the TA. I only paid $250 for it so I shouldn't complain too much.

flip it.
The bike is optimized for a 80mm fork but I got a deal on a 100mm fork. When I was test riding it the front end felt a little high so I flipped the stem. The seat is about 5mm lower now too, so the geometry is slightly less wild looking.
Next time I will take the pictures with it normal and flip it afterward for my my comfort, to not offend.

Your daring upside stem inspired me.

Honestly I didn't even notice - I was too busy appreciating the porta-john in the background.

Cranks not lined up with frame, saddle not tilted slightly up, long cable wiring (where's that clean roadie look?) and..yes, wait for it....

mxIf I run Navegals(850+grams without tubes) it teeters over the 24lbs mark but with Nano Raptors(600 and something with tube) it is a low 23. Cranks and wheels aren't the lightest either.
21.4 pounds FTW!! :thumb:
(please do something about it. :D)
Honestly I didn't even notice - I was too busy appreciating the porta-john in the background.Ya, it's one of them new composite jobs. Gotta be careful with them - - one scratch and the things are liable to explode with you in it.

Question. How do you like the SLX crankset? I am thinking hard about getting it after Christmas or so.

Question. How do you like the SLX crankset? I am thinking hard about getting it after Christmas or so.I got them from wiggle for like $115. They are suppose to be 100% stiffer than current XT's(870g on paper) and only weight 15 grams more with BB(on paper). I weighed them when I received them and they were 810g without BB. The BB weight was 68 grams.( that's only a 8 gram diff) So it's a much smarter buy than XT or LX.
But XT does have a much better large chain ring. The SLX uses the same chainring as LX. I suppose XT cranks will be upgraded sometime next year. Or at least be rebadged SLX arms since they are stiffer and lighter but use the stiffer and lighter XT chain wheels.
