Snow Angels

It's a total bummer-outer of a movie story-wise, but everything else is incredible, including the cast (Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell, among others).

Lamplight
12-06-08, 10:27 PM
City Lights
Mr. Deeds Goes To Town (the real version)
Rope
Harvey

And, despite it being something high school kids are forced to watch for English class, I really like the 1974 verion of "The Great Gatsby" with Robert Freaking Redford. Maybe it's because I love the book so much, or maybe it's the music, but I really like it.

La Femme Nikita, the original French version, not that crap with Bridget Fonda.
Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. Yes, watch both of them.
Grandma's Boy
Grosse Point Blank
Fargo
V for Vendetta
Van Helsing
Tombstone

Bike films:

The Collective, Roam, Seasons.
The Flying Scotsman
Quicksilver (good for laughs)
Off Road to Athens
A Sunday in Hell

Have you seen many old movies? LIke Danny Kaye, Katherine Hepburn, Hope and Cosby road movies, 3 Stooges, Robert Mitchum, Cary Grant, Walter matthau?

Walter Matthau was good in Hopscotch, A New Leaf, Cactus Flower, Fail-Safe, Ensign Pulver, Fortune Cookie, and that's just one guy.

Have you seen Dr Strangelove?

pgoat
12-06-08, 11:00 PM
Matthau played some great (bad) bastids early on in his career....Fail Safe - over the top but creepy 60s nuclear Armageddon (Dr. Strangelove but not as good and not funny!) and Strangers when we meet - cool scenes when Kirk Douglas goes all apescheat on him and some sailor dude when they mess wid his wimmens:D

Thanks!

I have to include Blair Witch because it seemed so real. I loved how the monsters/witches/ghosts were never shown. It was left up to the viewers imagination to scare themselves. Otherwise, I'm not a fan of horror movies.

You may want to review the AFI list.

My favorite all time movie Memphis Belle (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100133/)

Some very good ones above(as well as some I'd pass!:D)- here's a few more.

The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly- didn't spot that one. One of Sergio Leone's masterpieces, along with Once Upon a Time in the West, another truly great movie.

The Man Who Would Be King- Rudyard Kipling's short story made into a first-class movie. One of my all time favorites, period. Sean Connery & Michael Caine are dead on as Danny & Peachy, two Bri'ish sojers who muster out & decide to find their own country to rule. Directed by John Huston.

Excalibur!- The best King Arthur movie ever made, as yet it has no competition. Told from Merlin's point of view, beautiful photography- and you'll want to watch it on something with a good sound system if at all possible. If not, you might try using some good headphones with strong bass potential. ;)

A couple real fast trying not to repeat:

Pi
Requiem for a Dream
The Fountain
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Brazil
Eraserhead (like weird films?)
Blow
Spun
21 Grams
Momento
12 Monkeys
Life Aquatic
Coffee and Cigarettes
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Reservoir Dogs
Kill Bill 1 and 2
American Beauty

Two movies on the horizon I'm excited to see soon:

The Wrestler (can't you already tell I like Darren Aronofsky?, looks like a great preformance from Mickey Rourke. Check out the trailer, I like the apple website for trailers)

But really the only movie you absolutely positively need is:
