I accidentally bought a SRAM SS chain instead of a track/bmx chain for my fixie. Is it advisable to use a SS chain on a fixie? Just need to know whether I should use it or return/exchange it? Thanks.

Ok I'll bite. I was unaware that there was any true difference between a SS chain and a track chain. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think that there is really a difference.
Someone now please tell me if I am wrong here.

I thought the only difference between chains commonly used on fixie/SS bikes was the chain width. But that's just me.
EagleEye, which set of cogs & chainring do you have - 3/32" or 1/8"? Think most SS use 3/32", but there are exceptions. Some folks even run a 1/8" chainring with a 3/32" cog in back and use a 1/8" chain. Definitely best to match chain to cog/chainring, whatever size that is. You "can" (but not advised) run 1/8" chain on 3/32" cog/cr, but not the other way around.

I'm running Ultegra cranks with Ultegra chainring (don't know what size they are) and 1/8" cog in the back. I was gonna buy the SRAM PC-7X, which says "Track/BMX" (1/2"x1/8") on the box, but bought the SRAM PC-1 Nickel (also 1/2"x1/8") instead, which only says "Single Speed". The PC-1 is half the cost of the PC-7X, that's one of the main reasons I want to use it if I can. I'm putting together a fixie to commute to work and don't want to be stuck out there with a broken chain. So, if the PC-1 is not gonna hold up, I would use it, for cost reasons. Thanks.
Oh, the PC-1 will do just fine then. When it wears out, check the PC-7X...don't know that it's actually any better wear-wise or performance-wise, but the black and gold links look sweeeeeeeeeeeet.
