Here is one from a DC blizzard a number of years ago. I love to get snowed in here -- everything slows down but it never lasts long enough to be a problem.

Those two times were the most snow I'd seen in several year. :( When I was little, we usually got one or two decent snows a year. By decent I mean 5+ inches. Now we very rarely even get half an inch.

this is my driveway last week. mid storm. Friday was a powder day at A-Basin. This weekend was XC skiing at Eldora. The bike is on the trainer in the living room, covered in wet ski clothes.

Oh well. Nice pix. Dec 2006 was the winter before I got here, I heard it was a huge snow year.

This weekend was my first ski & 'board weekend, up till last week it was doing this extended beautiful-autumn thing, that bears no complaining about either.

I tried to find a picture of the last time it snowed here in any measurable quantity. It was a picture in the newspaper about two years ago, unfortunately the article has long since been removed from the internets, and the archive.org version doesn't have the photo archived.

The photo was from 1976.

From this morning - just before I hopped on the bike to commute to work. 11F and only 2 mph wind - not bad at all. Rode in 20F yesterday with 25mph sustained and 38 mph gusts - occasional white out conditions in the morning made the snow blow sideways. Had to stand with my legs nearly spread eagle at a few stoplights to keep from being blown sideways.

Good thing I like snow! (for now - talk to me in March)
