Hi, I was wondering what the cons and pros of platform pedal's are if I'm going to be doing dirt jumps? If anybody has anything to say that will help me it is appreciated thanks.

If your DJ'n you'll need platforms fof those gnarly backflipwhips.

Platforms are the only thing you can really run when dirt jump. No one clips in to DJ but I guess you could if you got super good at clipping in and out while in midair.

Slash1959 - You have a couple choices when it comes to platforms...
Basically the el cheapo will have fixed pins which when they scrape down or wear out u have to toss the pedals.
The better ones will have removable pins which you can replace.
Next are bearings, sealer or unsealed.
Sealed bearing pedals will rotate much less then unsealed and will stay where your feet left them (for doing whips etc). But they also cost more...
Finally you could run some plastic pedals, like the odyssey bmx pedals, and save some cash and your shins, but sacrifice in total grip (though they are pretty gripy)...
