General Cycling Discussion - what do the little stars mean?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Blue stars are moderators. Red stars are paying members.
Here's another thread about it.

Paying member? What's that all about? I've been here awhile now, and I didn't know about that.
(Yes, I read the other thread.)

I've never thought of those stars as cute....
Here's more to mull over: the Igor and the yellow jersey. And weren't they working on pink stars somewhere? And what do Ti members get?

The Igor was created in commemoration of Sheldon Brown and given to members who have contributed their time and efforts to improve the greater cycling community through things like volunteering and advocacy.

Uhh... OK- what kind of documentation do I need for:
serving on cycling advocacy committees in Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Portland/Vancouver
regularly contributing to Portland's BTA
reviving & running the Oregon Human Powered Vehicles club for several years
starting and organizing the Human Powered Challenge, Portland's annual recumbent/HPV race
leading rides every month for the last 10 years
replying to thousands of questions on various mailing lists and forums, always (OK, most of the time) keeping things positive and honest
What say you, Tom?
I think all you do it PM that one mod. Not Tom, but that other person....
The disadvantage of the red star is that we don't get to see all the groovy ads.
