Foo - How important is family to you?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I love my family. I move in with my parents every so often. My sister is a great person to be around. My grandparents, aunts and uncles are all freat people.
That said, I haven't seen my sister in a year. I haven't seen my grandparents in 3 years or so. Most of my aunts and uncles I haven't seen in...6 years or so. I rarely ever share the holidays with my family. I'm usually busy doing other things and so are they.
So how important is your family to you?
My family is very small. I have my mother and faterh, one brother, one uncle, one aunt, two cousins, three nieces or nephews still living on my side of the family. I see them all multiple times per year, as all but my parents, and one cousin live in or around Dallas. My parents live 100 miles away on a lake.
I love having my brother and parents so close. Really important when things get tough.

My family comes first to me no matter what. I'd rather live in the gutter than have them do so.

The last family member I saw, not counting in-laws, was my mom, over 2 years ago, which was also when I saw most of the rest of my family. I haven't seen my younger brother in over 6 years.
I do call my mom every month or so, and we talk for about an hour. I also call my dad every now and then.
They're important to me, we just live in different parts of the US (Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia), and don't get to see each other that often.
Very. All my fam/extended fam are in Mpls./St. Paul area, in laws in Chicago/San Antonio/Florida Keys. Folks are coming to visit later this month. Happy.

Go see your grandparents more they tend to have a shorter life expectancy than the others.

My immediate family is first priority, though I've been distancing away from them (school, work, friends, cycling and finding myself). I love both of my parents and my two sisters, but it's a fight to get me to sleep there overnight (I prefer sleeping in my apartment).
My grandma lives right beneath me, and I always see her to at least get her blessing. I watch her sometimes as well.
My extended family is important to me too, but not as immediate as my immediate family (duh!).
