Advocacy & Safety - What made you start wearing a helmet after not, but them decide to stop again?

This thread made me respond to a helmet thread after not, but them, I've decided to stop again.

At first, I fell for the propaganda, but after reviewing what I thought made sense, realized it didn't, so went back to square one.

Aren't we all a little gullible to a slick campaign if we're not paying close attention?

What is this, Foo?

Ever since I realized that hardly anyone has an levelheaded comment of any intelligence around here, that's exactly how I've since perceived it.

The only difference between Foo and A&S is that flamewars are accepted here :lol:

Well, one time I was in Miami. I woke up there. It was snowing in Detroit. When I got home there were too many cars parked so I took my bike. It weighed about 20 pounds. The only logical solution was to wear my helmet.

Wearing a helmet was not so easy on me. Calculus is way harder. I looked at the clock and it was time to eat breakfast. My weight coupled with the breakfast was equivalent to my net weight. The only lingering solution in the air came to me like a boomerang. Helmet, while it greatly cramps my style, disappeared into the thin air.
Case closed

I moved out of a city that has made adult bicycle helmets mandatory.

I entered a road race in which it was compulsory. Then I went for a ride the next day.

I saw a discussion during a stop on the trail one day where a helmeted rider asked another rider as to why he wasn't wearing a helmet. The rider replied, "A few months ago my doctor told me I have six months to live. I'm enjoying my ride this morning however I choose to enjoy it."

That pretty much silenced Mr. Helmet.
