looking for a new computer for my dad and would prefer something with large numbers, less than $50. Any suggestions?

Look at the Planet Bike Protege Line. Big display and no buttons.

Cateye Strada (wireless or wired -- I've got the wireless).

Excellent, simple computer -- big numbers for speed.

I've seen it for sale for about $44.

I have a Specialized Elite model on my road bike, and have been very happy with it. You probably could get away with the Speed Zone Sport for $30.00. Here is a link showing all the models: Speed Zone Computers (http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqSection.jsp?sid=EquipComputers&eid=380)

Sigma computers have larger numbers than the CatEye Strada.

I have a Sigma 1606L (wired speed and cadence) http://www.sigmasport.de/us/service_center/produkt_support/bikecomputer/fragen/?jahrgang=4&produkt=1&gruppe=1&sprache=2&typ=bikecomputer

and a Cateye Strada (wired speed and cadence) and the Sigma has much larger numbers for all information displayed.

Any of those "BC" models have the big displays. The basic function ones are way under $50.
