As I have mentioned in several threads, I have been in search of a steel road bike frame to build up for a little while now and was finally able to make it happen. It all sort of fell in to place when I sold off two bikes and a frame I had laying around. Within a day of the last piece going out on the UPS truck I came across this frame in the For Sale forum and made an offer. A week later it arrived and I built it up using the Ultegra groupset I took off my PF along with some other bits and pieces I had. It's a partially lugged 59cm 1990'ish Serotta Colorado II frame/fork which was recently repainted. Since it was fresh from paint I had to do the prep like cleaning overspray from the dropouts and various threaded areas, but otherwise it was a quick and easy build. I'm awaiting some new tires and a new chain and it should be ready...to sit and wait for Spring to come. Oh well, there's always the trainer to use to break it in

Nice!!!

I love the white lettering on the wheels ,seat post, and stem. The all black and white scheme makes it look very clean.

Sweet. Nice resto-mod. I would have put a Cinelli stem and white Turbo saddle, but that's just me.:)

Oh, what cassette is on the rear? Did you have to spread the dropouts?

Alright more steel. Less chance of an explosion on the next group ride.

Friend has a Serotta, he loves his. Should last a long time.

I went 10-speed with a 12-26 and yes I did spread out the rear dropouts since they we at 126mm. I know this may come back to bite me in the ass at a later date in the form of cracked paint, but I decided to risk it.

Nice bike. I really like the fastback seat stays.
