Read on the forum that an American flag can help to keep the ******* at bay that give us a hard time on the road. So, today I went to auto parts store and got a 3x5 adhesive type and put it in a baggie in front of a piece of card board so it would not curl up and hung it behind my Brooks. I almost like it! looks srarp, hmmm. Did a 20 mile jaunt into the suburbs, not a problem, all the way back not a problem, and I'm thinking gee this flag thing is magic. But,,,, then I crossed the Cleveland boarder, 1/2 a mile from my home; big let down! Grrrr. Two scragley guys in a red pick-up truck; driver screams something at me as he passes by on the right while I sat waiting in the left turn lane at the light. Said to myself, bull $**!, and got out of the left lane and gave it everything and went after them. Well they got stopped by the next light, lucky me. Each one had 'its' window down a few inches (probably smoking). I yelled to them "did you have something to say to me?" The passenger looks at me and says "no man, it was him" as 'it' points at the driver. While I pointed to the driver I loudly said "he IS the one I was talking to!" . Driver looks all confused and pretends 'it' said nothing and mumbeled "I didnt say nuttin". I left it at that. These two loosers were actually frightened! lol! The light turned and he stepped on it! Should I have never confronted them? I do cary a military tear gas gun on me. :D just in case......

In short: No. My dad is a strange person. He lives on Virginia Ave, off of W. 25th. He does not ride often, but we do get out together every once in a while. He works for Key Bank designing the internet banking sowtware.

I lived in Cleveland in the late 60's to late 70's Cleveland hgts and the Archwood Area (right next door to Dennison Elem) I truly loved this song. Used to sing it in bars when I first got back here (drunkenly not professionally) . Finally got an mp3 of it last year. I saw him at some benefit at hgts art theater just before I left.

Archwood area used to be really cool late 70's, went to some awesome parties over there, don't know if it's like it was, but the pastor at the church still sits up in the tower to get food donations. Used to see Alex Beven at a bar on W. 117th street, he was there all the time, and a very small intimate atmosphere. Still like Michael Stanly better though....... LOL

Don't much care for biking in Cleveland anywhere East of the Cuyahoga myself.

Cleveland Guy, you are far braver than I, but if that's what you feel comfortable doing, by all means feel free. I have a client/friend who is a retired Chief from Cleveland, when I helped him move, I ran across some crime scene photos that enlightened me to the fact there are some mighty sick people in that town.

ClevelandGuy, if I saw you in person, I'd give you a big high five!

I had an incident of 3 kids playing basketball in the street today. I was riding, and they didn't stop their game, but they moved way over to the left side of the street. Right as I rode under the hoop, one of them shot the ball, and it grazed my shoulder. I was pissed but didn't do anything, just kept riding, they were kids after all. I got to the end of the street and decided to turn around and ask them if they were going to do it this time, too, but there was no need. They were standing at the curb waiting patiently for me to pass.

Trekkie, I'm confused why you put Cleveland, as opposed to BG? You must go home an awful lot?

Well, I am just in Bowling Green temporarily, as in only for about 18 more months. I really don't go home too much. My heart is in Cleveland though, and as much as I make fun of it, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!! I think I will change my location to Cleveland/Bowling Green...
