Not really earthshaking news, but a slice of life that's just too strange to pass up. It's not really about mountain biking either, but since he has often used a mountain bike in his, uh...act, I thought I'd post it up here. Story here http://www.newson6.com/global/story.asp?s=9470334 for extra fun be sure to read the reader comments, some real gems in there. If you're not familiar with this guy check out www.bikerfox.com

Bikerfox is the closest thing we cyclists have to a superhero. We must stand behind him, as he has stood for us so often.

One of my fav quotes from those comments: "Remember Spandex + County Jail = Spincter Pain, when he gets out he won't need a seat on his bike. "

Mental note: do not throw bicycle at police officer.
What was the guy thinking? Sadly, what a lot of people will take away from that news story is that bicyclists are crazy people who do not respect law enforcement. That is not the image I want to be associated with.

He sounds like a real case. Is the front-flip claim true?

I dont understand the news article. Biker Fox was riding on the road and the cop just wanted to confront him.. for what? Riding on the road? I dont know (I'm not from USA) but is one not allowed to ride on the road on Memorial Day ?
Well, the front flip is a load of crap. He prob. did one, but he wasn't the first. I remember owning a MTB video back in the late 90's with a segment of Fuzzy's back yard. There was a dude on a BMX who landed a front flip. It was the first ever known front flip on a bike. He was quoted as saying..."Next time I'll do it on my MTB".
Bikerfox's site says:
in yr. 2000 was the first person in the world to do a front flip on a bicycle or motorcycle. (2-3 years after that video was filmed in Fuzzy's back yard.

I wondered about that as well. Maybe he was riding to the left and obstructing traffic??? Maybe the cop thought he was a hippie.

Bikerfox isn't ON the bike in his flips...certainly not landing them.

Talk about a "superhero", how about that dude in your avatar? See if you remember this quote, "Revenge is a dish best served cold..." :D
