I used to drink Coke all of the time. Then we moved to Japan for four years. Drank "Real" Coke for four years. Now I just can't drink the American crap.
I used to laugh when my dad would always say: "It's not the same as it used to be." I'm pretty sure that the difference is that in Japan, they only use sugar, while in the U.S. they mostly use corn syrup.
Now, I mostly drink Dr. Pepper when I want a soft drink. Also, I drink a lot more water than I ever used to. I try to limit myself to one 12 oz. soda a day.
Of course, Dr. Pepper is probably also made with corn syrup. With Coke, I just know it SHOULD taste better!
Pepsi? Now that's sludge.

One thing I remember about my trip to Wurtzburg (Deutchland) was that a small glass of coke cost about the same as a large glass of good german beer. I don't know about Geneva, but under those conditions, I would probably drink more beer than soda too.

When I was growing up, we only had Coke. The only time we got Pepsi was when it was on sale, and the general consensus in my family was Pepsi was too sweet.
Anymore, when I buy sody water, it is usually Diet Coke or Decaffeinated Diet Coke.
But, I am still searching for Diet Chocolate Dr. Pepper to mix with my lo-cal Crown Royale.
RC or Shasta, of course.

HAHA SHASTA! when all my brothers and sisters were at home and we couldnt afford coke or pepsi we drank the cheap stuff! shasta!
Yeah, and when we couldn't afford Shasta, we'd get that cheap generic cream soda from the grocery store... said "creme soda" on the can with the white stripe underneath. That's when we knew we'd hit rock bottom. :D

AHA, finally someone who realizes they have to put Pepsi on sale to get people to drink it!!! I've been telling my M-I-L that for years, as for me give me diet coke or give me death ;)
Pepsi. Pespi. No Coke! RC before Coke. Generic cola before Coke.

Diet Coke is the best. Diet Sierra mist is the best diet drink that I have found, though I love Diet Coke for some reason.

Two things. One, coke, or any carbonated drink, but colas especially, are excellent for breaking loose rusted bolts. Put a few drops on a rusted or frozen bolt, making sure it seeps down into the bolt hole or inside the nut, and wait a few minutes. It should break it loose.
Many years ago back in high-school chemistry class, the teacher put a human tooth into a jar of Coke. Within two days, the Coke has disolved it.

WRONG... It's a myth. You really should watch more intelligent television. On the show Mythbusters they debunked this story. All it did was turn the tooth brown.

Coke.. Pepsi sucks!!! It goes flat in 5 minutes!
You mean you can actually let a glass of cola lay around for 5 minutes??? But these "cola on tap" machines suck like an Electrolux. Most of the time you get something that tastes almost - but not quite - entirely different than the original.

I drink which ever is cheaper, but prefer coke. But there is also one called LA Ice, it's cheap and tastes exactly the same as coke. Most of the time however I drink water because I'm a cheap lousy b*stard.

If I'm stuck with cola and really thirsty, then it's Pepsi. For pop (haha, I said it) in general, I prefer sprite or 7-up or whatever generic copy.
Shasta's not the cheap stuff, it's the best stuff! The cheap stuff is Safeway, but it's still better than Pepsi or Coke.

WRONG... It's a myth. You really should watch more intelligent television. On the show Mythbusters they debunked this story. All it did was turn the tooth brown.
Mythbusters has been half right on some occaisions...the coke SYRUP as a drain cleaner was one of them...they said it had no special clenaing agents..what they did was use the bottled stuff, not the syrup...the syrup has a stronger concentration of phospohoric acid, and therefore in a pinch, and in reasonable qualtity (about a quarter gallon) can work as a drain cleaner for a restricted pipe....now for a clogged pipe you are hosed. I know this because i have done this one a few times myself back when I was lucky enough to have my own fountain (it was something hte previous house renters installed w/o permission, but the landlord never got around to rmeoving it...all good to me...cheap soda!)
The problem is someone sees something once, and makes a half right statement....than someone disproves the halfright statement, but instead of calling the original statement for what it is, accepts it as a total truth. happens all the time, even in science.
For the longest time, for watercooling of electronic components, low-flow and high-flow layouts have had this see-saw of "proof"....in all truth, both perform identically if layed out right, but the high-flow layout is just more idiot proof. However in event of catastrophic failure, the low-flow setup would reduce the damage potential. But, if you go asking around, all you will see are "experts" on each end sit around and do the same flawed tests and try to pass it off as absolute proof. All the while the real experts usually already know and don't care...so we never hear from them...or if we do it's often not heard since the other two groups are now screaming at each other like banshees that just learned what a gatling gun is.
