Axiom makes a good slim fit, light xc pedal. Forget what they are called but they are around 90 cdn.
Just in case you don't realize, axiom is Norco so they should be easy to find.
Wellgo makes some reat paltforms. Also WTB still makes their vaunted greaseguard pedals. However if you can find some of the old Suntour XC pro or shimaNO XT paltforms those should last a very long time.

What do you mean by xc platforms, as in clipless with a platform body around it or just a set of flat pedals?
If it's the first look at a set of Time Atac Z pedals or a set of Crank Brothers Mallet C or the Crank Brothers Candy line up.

If you're looking for the best XC platform pedals then you'll probably want to check out the ones from Atomlab (http://www.atomlab.com/home.html). I like the Aircorp. If you want to go clipless and still have the option of full platforms then check out the Quikstep.
