Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - US at track world cup

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Was looking at the startlist for the World Cup in Cali and was surprised by the absence of American riders. Does anyone know why they aren't competing?

It looks like turnout is pretty light in general-- only 13 per heat (2 heats) in the mens points race?!?
It could be a combination of being a post-olympic event and some other factors. World Cup turnout increased dramatically as the olympics got closer.
I just looked over at cycling news and the turnout is *really* low-- 166 riders, when I think the last LA event had close to 400. Probably nobody's federation wants to spend the money, if they even have it to spend after going to Beijing.

There are some US riders riding for Hawk Relay (a UCI trade team)-- Duvendeck and Watkins are there to ride sprints. They're riding the team sprint with Canadian Travis Smith, and will probably be riding match sprints, but the posted start list is blank.
HOT - Travis Smith
NOT - No World Cup in LA this year
