Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - is there a way to turn off thread previews?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

like if your mouse is resting over the line of any thread and a preview of about a paragraph pops up. this crap is so annoying.

There may be a browser setting you can adjust for that.

I too find this quite annoying. Perhaps if they were made to appear with the cursor only over the TEXT rather than over the whole LINE. Please.

Same here, and I'm using Safari (Apple iMac)

Those previews are sometimes useful but mostly annoying when they pop-up while scrolling through the list. I was also looking for a control panel to switch them off.

Pocko I guess the problem might be a problem but I'd like to add it's an HTML issue in general for that same set of routines will do a number of routines including ye olde expanding ad window. I know there is a trigger value that might be adjusted so that the target area is decreased but it can be touch and go. My technique is to mouse over/under/around so you learn not to hit the target.

Ironically, this routine is almost the same as the "tool tips" in Windows. You mileage may open a window to tell you that it's mileage.
