Anybody, other than Luxenbourg's anti doping agency, buying that Schleck sent Fuentes 7,000 Euro just to get started on some training advice?

I'm not buying but I also don't believe in destroying a career based on loose circumstantial evidence either.

Is it impossible to believe that Mr. Fuentes did things other than give riders drugs?
Listen, I've not no doubt that he has supplied riders with drugs, but I also don't beleive that he slithered around to EVERY one of his athletes and talked them into the stuff.

Frank Schleck never should have had a case. This is a witch hunt, and everyone knew it. Whether Frank doped at one point in his career or not, I don't know, but it's useless to know now.

nonsense.
was it useless to know that riis was epo'd up in his 1996 TdF win ? (although I think this was known long before Riis admitted as much)
Schleck knowingly sent a bunch of cash to a doc who was practicing the dark arts. that's pretty thick smoke. where there's smoke there's fire.

Did you guys see this article? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/2008-12-10-new-hgh-process_N.htm?csp=34

Think they'll finally come out with a test for HGH?

And yes, it was useless for Mr. Riis to admit to using EPO, because what has it gotten us? Really. Nothing. There is supposed to be some secret kind of meeting where officials will decide who actually won the 1996 tour, but who really cares now? The books have already been written.

Schleck sending a cycling coach money is no big matter. If they found drugs in his system, however, that would be a big matter.

Liotta and Petricoin, both longtime cancer researchers, are newcomers on the anti-doping scene.

Great lets get off of this mild cancer annoyance to get on with bigger problems, like doping in sports.

I guess rasmussen being in italy when he was supposed to be in mexico is no big matter, no drugs found in his system.

Fuentes is a gynacologist. Schleck was getting his mangina attended to.

Last I heard, Schleck didn't miss any doping tests while on furlough in Mexico, er, Italy.

Seriously, one knowingly lied (is there any other kind? But I digress) about his whereabouts and missed required doping tests while also apparently collaborating with a doctor known to supply cyclists with PEDs. The other other once wired 7,000 Euros to the account of a doctor known to supply cyclists with PEDs, and... well, actually, that's all we've got. How are the cases anything alike?

Schleck may well be guilty, but there's essentially nothing to go on. My inclination is to believe that he has not been involved in doping in recent years. I could be wrong, but there's really no basis to believe otherwise beyond the vague mumblings about what percentage of riders are still doped. 20%? 40%? 80%? Should I believe that Schleck is on CERA 20% of the time, and believe that he's clean the other 80%? That's too complicated for my poor head. The evidence against Schleck makes the evidence against Lance look like an open-and-shut case. I'll take the investigators' word on it for now.

True. I don't think he should be sanctioned either. But the explanation is total BS, and just another black eye for cycling.

again I'll say: this witch-hunting is destroying the sport, for no good end.

1) Why is 21 years of age the threshold?
2) What rights are you suggesting they waive?

What you're missing here is that at the time of the scandal Fuentes had already ended his career as a team doctor and no longer had any legitimate connection to professional cycling. Fuentes wasn't a coach like Ferrari, so the idea that he was just paying for training programs makes no sense.
