and I really want to do some more climbing.
What are some good climbs within riding distance of Stockton? I was doing some searching and Patterson Pass looked like a fun one so I'd like to figure out a route there as well as any other climbs around here. Keep in mind it doesn't have to be huge, I think that I've only done about 400 feet of climbing over the past thousand miles:p

Then Patterson Pass should be a butt kicker. Follow the tour route from last year.

Oh thanks! I didn't even think to check that.

So that route is decent as far as traffic goes? I know that there are a few changes that I'll make near Stockton but I am completely unfamiliar with the Tracy area.

Head east to the hills.
Start at the town of Wallace (30 miles away) and enjoy country roads with hills, climbing up to Jackson and beyond.
As mentioned above, Patterson Pass is another good hill to ride.

The Tour uses a rolling roadblock for traffic. If you are riding during the week, consider taking the ACE train to Tracy, then find a short route to warm you up before the climb.
