Hi. I am looking to buy a good trainer, I hear fluid is best, but I am really just interested in a trainer that has good resistance. I have seen good reviews for the bell motivator trainer, although a lot of reviews say it is super noisy...but I have slicks, so I don't think it will be a problem. Anyone have any suggestions for a trainer 100ish bucks or less?

Check Nashbar and Amazon for some cheaper fluid trainers, you might have to raise your price up to around 150 dollars though.
I do think that the difference of a fluid over a magnet trainer is worth the extra money.
I probably spent one hundred dollars destroying tires with my cheap Minoura trainer.. and the bits of rubber go everywhere

I have slicks on my bike and the Bell Motivator is loud. I don't have any reference because it is my first trainer ever, and I bought it used, but I know that everything seems to be practically brand new on it so I don't think it got that much use before I purchased it.

Just a point of reference. I like it enough, and it'll keep me riding in the winter, but if I had some more money, I'd have looked at something that was rated for being quieter.

Loudness can be an issue even with fluid. You can put a rug, or a rubber mat
under it to cut down a bit on the noise for the neighbors.

If you can find Gulpers (entryway mats with a rug surface and rubber bottom)
a couple small ones would work.
