Mr. Beanz

Gina had some business to take care of so I it the trail alone. It's cool when you get a chance to open up and kick some arse. I start at mid trail and head north inland. Then back to the coast after a 10 mile warmup. On the way to the coast it was BREEZY with a capitol B. Trees were blowing and leaves were fluttering, not quite a wind but very breezy.
As I head back to the coast, I'm about 20 miles into my ride when a guy goes flying by me. Hey, he's a 'skinny', lets have some fun.:thumb:....He's flying so I pick up the pace and give chase. He's really flying and pulling away but I lose him somewhere. I'm thinking I must not be warmed up cause I can't catch the guy. He's riding so fast that I start to think he's riding another mile and cutting off or he's just really good and puttin' the spank on me.
So he's gone but I continue with my tail bewtween my legs, oh well I tried! So I stop for a brief second to refill my second bottle at a small park about 15 miles form the coast. As I continue on, I look back and THERE HE IS!..How in the world did he get behind me? So now it's on again!:D
I pick up the pace as he rides by. He gets about 20 yards ahead but I say ,"not this time buddy!". I watch as he speeds off but then I realize he's hit the wind and switched to an easier gear for "the spin". Dude, you're in Mr. Beanzville now! The wind is my friend! I switch to a harder gear catch and ride by the guy. He quickly takes my wheel. "oh you cheeser!" I don't take a wheel when I'm in the middle of a challenge. You either beat me or I beat you, not by sucking wheel.
I see what his plan is so I slow my pace so that he rides by. And sure enough he does as he looks me in the eye and gives a big cheesy smile thinking I'm done. But I've got a plan! I hang back about 40 yards knowing he's prolly celebrating at this point. But I watch as we hit the small inclines under the underpasses. He can't climb in the wind. Every pass I gain an easy 15 yards on him. Now I know he's mine. So I continue to play the game as I know there is a short climb down the way. Ha! The Clyde planning the pass on the skinny at the climb!:thumb:
So I pick up the pace and blow by his arse on the climb WITH A SMILE. I look back at the top of the 30 yard climb and he's struggling bigtime! Now I'm ahead and I intentionally look back to see where he as the same way he did when he was ahead. I continue to push hard knowing he's strong. I go back and forth, I mash then I spin, I spin, then I mash. I'm really putting out and now my lower back is talking to me. At one point I feel like my quad wanted to cramp but I back off slightly so the feeling goes away.
I look back and he's creeping up again. No you don't sucker so I put it on even harder. I'll puke before I let you catch me! At this point I know we are 3 miles from the coast and he's not gaining but I continue to look back at him. Now I'm 40 yards ahead, then 50, then 60, he's fading fast now! So I stomp on it even more. He's done! I'm in pain but heck, that's what a workout should feel like!
I quickly turn around at the coast and head back. At this point, he's about a 1/4 mile behind. As I approach him riding the opposite direction, he looks right a me and smiles the big cheese again! That's cool, I gave him the thumbsup knowing we both got in a good one! But this time, the Clyde won!:thumb:
At the end of the 60 miler, I was still feeling mean! I set up my little camera on the timer and did some poser shots. I felt good so I thew in some little sprints too for extra mileage!:D
