Looking at spending between $500 and $1,000 0n duel bike to replace my stolen Rock Hopper. Dakar Sport looks good. Does anybody have info or opinion on Schwinn Rocket 1? It has good components and hydraulic discs. I'm 6'4" and 215 lb. Any info would be appreciated

i recommend a jamis. they are sweet bikes, and i personally love the geometry. i have a 2003 komodo and its awesome. i dunno, seems like with schwinn you aren't getting as good of components for your buck. with the jamis you are gettin a black fork as opposed to a judy, for example. not to mention they sell schwinns at walmart...

Hopefully someone will answer you. I am looking at the same 2 bikes along with possibly the Haro XLS r5.
I'm leaning towards the Schwinn because of the Hayes Hydraulics though I hear Shimanos are much better. Bike shops don't know much about the Rocket since it's brand new, and they are kinda down on Schwinn since they sold out. I haven't seen the Rocket, have you? In any case, let me know what you decide.

Jamis...
for the simple reason Schwinn is not the bike company it used to be.
