My newly acquired mid 80's Peugeot frame needs a 26.4mm internally expanding seatpost. Anyone know where I can get one? Damn these Fresh parts!
Please keep an eye out and let me know! Thanks.

i have an expanding seat post that came off my c.itoh sub-mariner. since the frame is scrap (head on collision) i dont need the seat post. if its the right diameter id be willing to sell or trade. ill go measure it soon.
If you decide to improvise something, you can have my Capo's original 26.4mm steel seatpost, which I replaced with an admittedly anachronistic, but much more elegant, Campag. You might be able to cut two grooves from the bottom, put a washer on top, and use a standard handlebar stem wedge (truncated cone style) and bolt.

I'd be willing to send you the wedge part for free from my 25.6 steel expanding post from my kabuki if that would help you. The aluminum part of the frame cracked and I have no use for the post.

I just bought a 1980's vintage Peugeot Triathlon on eBay (no one mentioned the seat tube w/ no clamp). It's a beutiful bike and rides like a dream, but I am thinking of modifying the seattube to take a clamp. If you have any ideas (or find a source of seatposts) let me know. If I do the mod, I'll let you know how it works out if you send an e-mail address.
Good luck.

I like this idea! Have you tried it?
I like this idea! Have you tried it? Nope, all of my frames have conventional seat tube clamps. The only other option I can come up with is to build a small clamp which wraps around the seatpost and which can be strapped to the frame.

Read my E-mail / PM and I know place where you might be able to find one.

read this.....interpret that anyway you'd like. I tried finding it on the website. Perhaps a phone call is due...
would a modern seatpost clamp like those on
CF frames work? Yah I know not vintage but maybe an
option?

I am also suffering from the same problem. I have an older Peugoet that requires the same type of seatpost. I will call American Cyclery in the moring. I really do love the frame. I had even considered replacing the lug where the seatstays meet the seat tube.
