I know I posted this in the What You've Been Listening To thread but I think it merits a thread of it's own. I saw this band rock the Bottom Lounge in Chicago on wednesday and they burned down the house (although nothing like Great White did). They are a punk band with some serious soul influence. Imagine The Hives with a little James Brown and Rolling Stones mixed in. Some serious stuff. Check them out. If you have, I wouldnt' mind hearing your response.
If you haven't: Do not Walk. Do not run. But sprint to your local club to check this band out. Rock: 100%. Politcs: walk like they walk. Spirit raising: higher than the gods.

I've always been lukewarm on TINC. Similar feelings about them as I have for Dismemberment Plan. Good live show, at any rate.

Good band, great politics. However, if I want leftist-leaning philosophies mixed in with some guitar squall, I usually put on Crass or the MC5.

I love (The International) Noise Conspiracy. I wasn't a big fan when I first heard them, but man their music is great. Definately higher quality punk. Peace.

speaking of bands with long names, the world/inferno friendship society (http://worldinferno.com) is a really fantastic band that i have nothing to do with, other than liking them a whole lot...plus most of their albums are on mp3 on their website. i reccommend "tattoos fade," "i remember the weinmar," "zen and the art of breaking everything in this room," and "i wouldn't want to live in a world without grudges."

sort of a bosstones feel to them. also reminds me a bit of that chicago boss tones band, oh what the hell were they called?... ah hell, I'll remember them someday and post their name then. they kind of sucked anyways, although my friend Tony played drums for them and he is very cool. But then Tony got a better life with kids and stuff and he's an adult unlike the singer of the aforeunmentioned band whose name I can't remember. blah blah blah.

i saw them for free at south by southwest (god bless austin).. i thought they were okay..nothing spectacular... just mediocre and falls too much into the signature swedish sound of hives/division of laura lee... perhaps they tried to be too political
there can and never will be another Ratm :D

RATM was preachy tripe. T(I)NC believe, they have spirit, and they still have fun instead of that annoyingly, pedagogue de la Roch. Plus they display a richer appreciation for the human soul as opposed to politics and only politics, plus they are smarter. Enough said.
