Subaru ftw.
Oh, the driver is pretty good too.
Subaru > Segway :p
There is some kid around here with one of those. I was going to old house to get the last load when we were moving and had a big dual axle u haul trailer behind me when I saw this suburau come up behind fast and change into the lane left of me then stop at the light where I was waiting. Everyone there does that, the lane I was in turns into the inramp and rude people pull into one lane to the left then race up and cut people off in the right. So when the light changed I hot the tow/haul button and floored it and the kid in his "race car" was mad that he could't pass a Chevy pulling a trailer.

Ha! Then it was certainly not one of "those" ;)
it has that square shopping cart handle, I mean wing on the back and looked the same, do they make another version of that car which isn't a "race car"

The WRX STi's, which is what you are talking about, do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. I highly doubt your chevy can go faster than that even without the trailer.
4.8 seconds is probably on a track with a professional driver. A kid driving daddy's car or the car that daddy's money bought him probably can't make it do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.

Yes, that was an STi. free_pizza was simply pointing out that the car in the video made close to twice the horsepower of an STi on the street. That being said,

I have no problem believing that a good reaction time, automatic tranny, and massive torque will get a good jump on a punk in a manual tranny STi. But you didn't say the distance you had to go before the "cutoff" or whatever it was coming up. You're not going to get that far.
And your post was not relevant to this thread, which is about the amazing skills of a pro driver and the capabilities of a race-prepped Subaru.
Unless this was your truck, I don't believe you.

Or, the kid was not trying.

The car in that video is no normal stock STI, and i would venture to say it could do 0-60 in less than 4.8s, regardless, either one would absolutely destroy your truck without the trailer.
p.s. Did the kid know he was racing you?

Of course the kid didn't know he was racing. He pulled up to the light intending to pass a truck pulling a trailer (reasonably assuming that it would be slow) before getting on the onramp (now I understand what he was saying). So Mr. Self-Righteous took it upon himself to teach the kid a lesson by flooring it. The kid let the clutch out normally and suddenly realized the truck was 50 feet down the road, so he accelerated from low rpm and couldn't pass the truck in the 100 feet to the onramp. Big deal. But Mr. Self-Righteous had to tell us his amazing story.

Hydraulic handbrakes are fun, too.
And I don't care what anyone says, that's still the nicest bodystyle Subie made. And an STI would eat your truck alive, trust me.
Wow, that was pretty extreme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edmeLXXwTwU&feature=related).It's official, the following question has been answered:
"If you remove the speed limiter from a Segway and add large, pneumatic tires, does the Segway become less dorky?"
The answer, apparently, is "no." :P
