Update 12/18:

I still do not know what this is.

I have an email into TiSports to see if they made it (I think they did).

It is not a Raleigh MTi 1000 (long shot), LiteSpeed, McMahon, Kona, or some non-USA company.

On the bottom bracket, it says Made In USA and the serial is apparently R20002.
The fork is 1993 Rock Shox Mag 21.

I think it is a 1994 something. I believe the frame was made by Sandvik, but I don't know if there was a specific bike manufacturer or if it can straight from the factory.

It looks like it is the same frame as this:
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12825&view=next&sid=ee2baaa988a66cc06df20e1c33731141

Except there is an additional braze-on/boss on the seatstay. He is stating his frame is 1990 and my parts have mostly 1994ish parts, so I am guessing it is a later model.

Thanks for looking.

Does look like a generic ti bike from the era from Sandvik (who built for several brands). Maybe the serial number will pin it down for you. You might also try the classic & vintage board here as well as the vintage retro classic board on mtbr...

Yup. Looks very much like the Sandvik on the UK site.

-forward facing seat tube ears

-same built-in rear brake hanger

-cable guide locations

-wishbone (mono) seat stay

What'd you pay for it?

Are those Ti welds? Looks kinda thick to be Ti.

Here is an example of Ti welds -

You are right about the welds. Not as elegant.

I also noticed a slight, slight difference in the frame.

Brake boss and cable guides are different. But that rear dropout looks pretty close considering the geometry of the rear triangle.

I know this is the wrong time of year but one thing that really stuck out as different with a ti frame is when riding it on a blazing hot day.

I got burned on my leg when I stopped and rested my thigh on the top tube. I never felt a frame so hot before.

I'm sure the Konas have seen the dirtier side of cycling.

I wasn't leopard print. It was panther print. ;)

Check that it is Ti-- I had a Steel frame I bought in 94 that was (From Memory) Exactly the same as your frame. Made of Fuji Steel and weighed 3.1 lbs. It came in two finishes- Ti and Nickel- I got the nickel plated.

Handled very well and it was one of the early Taiwanese imports to this country.

Just take a magnet to the frame.

magnets do not stick to it, but i dont know if that rules out steel if it is plated. maybe try sticking it to the inside?
do you have any pics of your old bike?

Even if steel is plated, it should stick.

The frame looks too thin to be aluminum, so it's probably titanium.
