General Cycling Discussion - Newbie at wooden bicycle building

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have been riding bicycles for years, and now I need more information and learn how to bulid a wooden bicycle. I just have a little experence with woodworking and no experence working with steel and welding. Where online can I find Wooden Bicycle Building Plans for the beginner (hopefully no welding is required to build a wooden bicycle)? In these plans and would these wooden bicycles hold my weight at lease 260lbs or more?

Their are plans I see from time to time to build wooden recumbents offered on ebay.
This would be a good place to start http://www.homestead.com/bikerodnkustom/woodeye.html
There's a bamboo bicycle web site at:

I'd be worried about termites eating my bike ;)

Try google or dogpile searches, I ran across quite a few wooden bike sites whilst looking for diy recumbents, unfortunately I didn't save the links:(
