Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. it is for those who are new, and obsessed.

Yeah. Up to this point my plan had me riding every day of the week.

I just took three days off in a row. It's better for you than training.

Thanks to finals I'm coming up on 11 days off the bike :O, it's painful looking at my CTL. Christmas break will be spent getting things back up to a respectable course.

I wish I could say the same for my GPA...
Though, my plan for riding is the same as yours. I'll be spending a lot of hours on the trainer since I don't know the roads around where I live very well. Plus, riding around in the cold is no fun. I might ride outside if I can find a good group to ride with.

Finals and I'm sick as a dog. I won't be riding until the beginning of January since I'm going home without a bike. I will be xc skiing almost every day though.
It's december, I don't have an even mildly important race until May. Who gives a rats ass if I miss a training day now? I swear some of the people on here would be faster if they trained less.

We're suppose to take days off? Like a few in a row and stuff?

No, but getting drunk and laid is certainly a good thing.

I did it today. Scheduled a 2 hour tempo ride this morning. When I got up it was foggy, drizzling and just nasty out. I ate a peanut butter sammich and laid back down.

The whole month of November, so 30? With an average IF of around .7
edit: not 30, I took a day off for Thanksgiving
you're courting burnout. just sayin'

Doubtful as the overwhelming majority of those rides were LSD.

Training stress is cumulative. Ride enough at zone 2 and you will benefit from recovery.

I take more days off in winter, mostly because I hate riding the trainer.
4 rides a week [sometimes 3 :o], but I try and make the most of them.

If I made a post for every day I take off during the winter....
lol, I'm pretty bad about it, I already hate my trainer and its only December. ftp is coming up though, so even through the laziness I am getting something done.

Shouldn't a day off from training to have some time with the lovely wife include a BF break...just saying

you need to realize out the difference between physical and psychological burnout.
no matter, i'm pretty sure you'll see what i mean within the next 10 months.

If you end up being right about the burnout, I'll send you my SRM.

I've been doing "slower" rides for the past week or so and I'm feeling stronger...I found myself pushing harder and harder through November and I was concerned I would burn out or peak too early for next season...actually took off Dec 1-10 to force myself to cool it...I'll probably start to crank it up a bit as I look toward to Copperas Cove on Jan 17...

Yesterday was nice.
I ate, drank, and was merry. Quite invigorating.
Oh ... and I sold one of my bikes. I just made room for a new one next year. Hopefully a TT rig.

Really?
My money is on Botto. Psychological burnout is, for many, a bigger limiter than physiological. PCad's Zen is in fact pretty unique.

Really, really. 10 months is a long time, seeing as my season effectively ends in July, but I'll be honest about my psychological state as the season progresses.
