Mountain Biking - Need help deciding, Trek Fuel EX 9.9 or Titus X Carbon

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hey about to buy my first bike for cross country and need some feedback. I am 200lbs and an ex professional motocrosser and like to ride hard so need something that can take a good beating.
Looking at the Trek Fuel EX 9.9
or
Titus Carbon X with XT Kit
Does anyone have one of these they can give feedback on? I would go in and demo them but I am in Brazil for a few months and they don't sell the Titus here, but if i pick the titus ill just get it shipped.

Ibis.
Have you ridden any of them?
No i am in South America for a few months and they do not have the Titus here so I can't compare. I was talking with Bob from bobsbikes.com and he mentioned that the Titus is for XC racing so Im going to cross that one out. So now I am looking at the Yeti 575 and the Trek fuel ex 9.9, They have the fuel ex 9.9 here but they dont let you test them here! I will have a look at the Ibis also, any recommendations or help is appreciated, I do not mind spending up to 6k on a good bike.

The 575 is on my short list of next bikes, The trek never made it in the top 100 for me.

The plushness level on the carbon EX bikes is fairly low for a 5" travel bike. go for the 575, you won't regret it at all.
i wouldn't let your current location play a part in your decision. that would kind of suck. you're only there a little while longer.
was a major goal to do riding in SA? if not wait until you have other options.
have you considered looking into the DW-linked bikes? i hear they are good. turner, ibis, and pivot cycles all have this link. i believe iron horse?? maybe a couple others....but turner, ibis, and pivot are probably the big names i guess.
how about ventana?
good luck
