ok. I use a Dinotte 140 for my main light.
but I use a PBSF a lot too...and it hang it off the back of my Bak
and reach in back to turn it on/off whilst on the move. The friggin
thing has no feel and it drives me nuts. all my other lights have some sort
of feedback so you don't have to crane your neck around to see if the
thing is in the right mode.
PBSF gets low points for the stupid no-feel switch. and it is seeming to
wear out, it goes to a mystery mode and I no longer can count on one-press
anymore. one press does something different every time, often taking me right
back to the mode I am trying to get out of.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So hack a wire and remote switch onto it.... One with three positions maybe (if possible, I don't know what driver is in that thing) so you know exactly which mode it is in.
I mean, it is cheap, and certainly cheaper than a DiNotte, so what do you expect?

it is a momentary contact
yeah I am gonna have to desolder the existing one, run some wires
out, elephant snot it, and hook up a switch.

while your at ,see if you can put a 1 watt led in it (or a 3 for that matter), I have 2 pbsf's, I so want to try it.

I think you would basically end up tearing the thing apart entirely just to get adequate heatsinking.

I'm sure your right, I can't get it apart with breaking the casing. I didn't even think of heat, I guess thats why I don't do any DIY led stuff.

And how are you going to conquer the pickle matrix on the hamburger earmuffs! ;)

fixed
it is not pretty, but it works awesome and is watertight
this is a momentary contact switch with a postive 'snap' when pressed
and there is no mystery any longer...is it on ? what mode ?
